Workshops from CCCC
One of the aims of CCCC is to
provide the means for a unity of understanding of the Cursillo mentality. To do
this in a country as large as Canada, where we have, in addition to the English
Cursillo, several cultural Movements also, is no small task. Although dioceses
and regions provide workshops in their own areas, it is important that all of
us, from the most seasoned leader to the newest candidate, have the opportunity
to hear the same message, no matter where we live or to which Movement we belong.
As a means to making this unity of understanding a reality, and in collaboration
with several Canadian Movements, CCCC is putting the final touches to the
outlines for three workshops that will attempt to address this issue.
The workshops will reach leaders at all levels as they are quite diversified in
their content.
The workshops are:
1.
Go Deeper
2.
Back to Basics
3.
The Vision of Cursillo
Go Deeper:
This is a workshop that was initiated by the Vancouver Movement and which
formed the basis for the Western Region Conference, held in August of this year.
It is aimed primarily at the candidates from the most recent weekends, those who
have shown a particular interest in understanding more about the Movement and
who are, what they call in Mallorca, ‘The Shining Lights’. The outlines for this
workshop were developed from material in Structure of Ideas.
The workshop consists of seven presentations in which the fifteen Rollos of the
Cursillo weekend are revisited and explained further.
Back to Basics:
was put together as a result of the 2003 Conference held in Rothesay, NB.
It is a one-day workshop that looks at the Foundational Charism, the essential
elements of the weekend, and some of the talks from the Third Day which have
been altered and adapted in recent years so that the original message has been
lost. This workshop, when first held in Halifax, was found to present a message
that reaches both new candidates and seasoned leaders.
The Vision of Cursillo:
The third workshop has been presented in several places previously but
has been updated and now incorporates more of the thinking from the original
documents that we have received from Mallorca. This is a weekend workshop and is
aimed at those who have a desire for a deeper understanding of the Foundational
Charism.
What is a CCCC Sponsored Workshop?
Any diocese may request to hold one of these workshops. CCCC will provide the
materials, such as outlines and masters of any handouts that should be given.
The team leader will be either a member of CCCC or their designated local
leader. The team preparing to facilitate the workshop, does so in co-operation
with CCCC and the local secretariat. A full guide regarding the workshops and
how to plan and facilitate them will be provided once a request is received so
that the diocesan secretariat can discern if the workshop will meet the local
needs.
In the near future, a successful workshop that the Hispanic community has been
using will be translated and also available. This is called, The Mentality
Workshop.
These workshops are an excellent jumping off point for a School of Leaders. They
are not meant to answer questions specifically but rather to inspire leaders to
seek the answers to their questions by discussion and dialogue thus creating,
Leaders Who Think, something that Eduardo Bonnín has said, the Movement needs.
