At each of the annual CCCC
Conferences since returning from the I Conversations of Cala Figuera, the Officers’ Group of the CCCC has based the theme on one or more of the Ten topics of Cala Figuera. As we have studied and reflected on these ten topics, we have
come to realize that they are the foundation of the Charism and although at first they may not appear to be topics that we speak about specifically in Cursillo, they are topics that are inherent in the Gospel. They are what Jesus
taught.
This can be best summed up in the final topic on Joy given by Jesus Valls at the
I Conversations when he said. "JOY arises in a PERSON when he discovers his
condition of LIBERTY and chooses to live by a code of LOVE, that is to say
without fear or dread, using FRIENDSHIP as the best means of true communication
that is guaranteed by CONVICTION. Love shows itself by one's walking in the
truth, that is, with SINCERITY and directed by a CRITERION - which appears as
the art of adapting the personality to circumstances and interpreting LIFE as
something what is always to be tried and which is always beginning anew. If we
accept this condition, not indulging in mental prejudices nor sudden fits of
passion which are born out of instincts, we give our affairs only the importance
that they merit and, therefore, we appraise them objectively, within the NORMALITY of ordinary life".
The Ten Topics are:
1. Friendship
2. Person
3. Joy
4. Normality (naturalness)
5. Criterion (principles, ideas, standards)
6. Liberty (freedom)
7. Life
8. Love
9. Sincerity
10. Conviction

See How They Love One Another - Sign of the Kingdom Exploring the concepts of LOVE as contained in the Founders' Vision, the SINCERITY and CONVICTION that are the consequence of understanding LOVE as a gift, a charism that needs to be received, accepted, before it can be given and shared with others. These three concepts, visible in the community, are a sign of the Kingdom. |

The Why of the Weekend - To Be A Pilgrim The Conference provided a deeper look at the weekend Rollos and meditations, the role of the Leader and the necessity for all Leaders to have a thorough understanding of what the Cursillo weekend is designed to achieve: to bring us new friends for the journey, pilgrims on the way, rather than an ever growing list of tourists who have 'made a weekend', as if it were a three day event rather than the beginning of a new way of life.
